Red bull Supernatural 2012: The most amazing snowboard contest ever!

red bull supernatural video
Is this the future of snowboarding?? I think so!

Last weekend, the best snowboarders in the world including Travis Rice,Nicolas Mueller, Terje Haakonsen, John Jackson, Gigi Ruf and Scotty Lago met in Baldface Lodge in Canada to participate in the first snowboarding contest of its kind, the 2012 Red Bull Supernatural.

Red Bull Supernatural was first initiated by Travis Rice, a rider we don’t need to introduce anymore. With the help of the Red Bull crew, he has built wooden modules in a forest  in the depths of British Columbia a few months ago, in the manner of MTB obstacles. The winter now kicking in, 18 riders came back to this spot to compete in what looks like the future of snowboarding.

The idea is simple: make a long run through this unreal course landing the most stylish tricks. A bit like a snowboard game on your Playstation! At this game, Travis Rice himself won his own contest, followed by the super stylish Gigi Ruf and Nicolas Mueller from Switzerland.

Now sit down, and be ready to be amazed…

No Pain.No Gain.

HISTORY is bringing back the most dangerous collision sport in history and transforming it into a 21st-century event. But this is no Renaissance fair as the toughest riders in the nation face off in a bone-crushing competition for big money. It's as intense as it was 500 years ago, but with a twist: Traditional armor is replaced by modern suits of steel, while action is captured by high-speed cameras.

Each episode features full-contact jousts in which jousters charge and collide at 30 miles an hour, and every joust is a test of courage and strength requiring nerves of steel. The last man standing takes home the cash as this extreme sport is reborn.

How to snowboard like a pro

DC Live Park

We all know DC are known to do things right and are always ahead when it comes to great ideas. Well my friends, the new DC Live Park Concept is no exception.

I am ready to bet my deck that most of you always dreamt of being able to show off the tricks (and bails…) you did during a session at the Park. Well it is now possible thanks to this new concept developed by the team DC.

In short, you simply need to place a sticker on your helmet or glasses to be detected by the various cameras set up in the Park and that’s it. Once a camera detects you, it starts recording. The images are then sent to the Live Park concept website, where you will be able to download them.

Of course not all DC Parks are equipped yet, but I am sure you won’t need to wait for too long. Until then, you can enjoy the following snowboarding video explaining the concept.
